The Schraemli family - your hosts
The Schraemli family has been running the Lengmatta since summer 2013 and can count on a loyal clientele including many locals. While Susanne looks after the hotel guests, Thomas is responsible for the kitchen. This enjoys an excellent reputation.
After completing his compulsory schooling in St. Moritz, Thomas Schraemli did an apprenticeship as a chef at the Parkhotel-Kurhaus, now the Grandhotel Kempinski. He acquired his later skills as an excellent chef and shrewd hotelier in various renowned establishments. First as "Commis de cuisine" and then as "Chef de partie" in various positions, he acquired a comprehensive knowledge of hot and cold cuisine.
His professional career took him to such well-known establishments as the "Hotels Atlantis Sheraton", Zurich, "Intercontinental" and "Du Rhône" in Geneva and "Suvretta-House" in St.Moritz. In the meantime, he attended the hotel management school in Thun, where he graduated with a diploma, and spent several months in San Francisco studying English.
Before he ventured into his own business together with his wife Susanne, whom he met in his parents' business in St.Moritz, he completed his knowledge in the hotel industry as F&B manager, Chef de Service and Aide du Patron in well-known hotels and restaurants such as the Mariott and zum Storchen hotels in Zurich, as well as in Schloss Wülflingen in Winterthur. The first business of his own, which he ran as a tenant for eight years together with his wife, was the Höhwald Restaurant in Klosters-Monbiel. From May 2003 to April 2008, Thomas and Susanne Schraemli were tenants of the Hotel-Restaurant Büel in Klosters Dorf. From May 2008 to April 2013 they were tenants of the Alpenhof in Davos-Platz and now since June 2013 they have been running the Lengmatta in Davos-Frauenkirch.
In his wife Susanne, Thomas Schraemli has an extremely capable and experienced partner at his side who looks after the service and office. The marriage produced two lively boys named Matthias and Raphael, who are now grown up. Matthias is studying medicine in Lugano and Raphael works as a customer advisor at GKB in Davos.
